Our Story

Our beautiful Grade 2 listed building dates back to the early 1800's and was originally established as the "Manchester & Salford Bank" in 1836, before changing its name to "William Deacon's Bank" in 1901. The Bank was then purchased by RBS in 1931 and operated as such for 87 years before they closed its doors for the final time. A local property developer purchased the building in 2020 and after a painstaking 3 years it opened as Deacon's Bank Restaurant, a nod to William Deacon himself. Following 3 years of hard work in establishing Deacon's Bank as the #1 Restaurant in Derbyshire (various accolades) the business was purchased by our current owners Chef Patron Leo Harvey in partnership with Maitr D' Harrison Clayton.
